Bearings can be of the open type with no seals (you can see the steel balls) or sealed with either rubber or metal seals. Also if replacing gearbox bearings look to see if the bearing is marked with a C3 mark, this indicates extra internal clearance on the raceway (most important to prevent bearing seizure at high speed). If no numbers are present then bearings can be identified by dimensions - if you only have size try typing in bore size x outside size x width.For example a bearing with a 20mm bore, outside size of 47mm and width of 12mm type in the quick find box 20x47x14 - this would give a 6204.
